ART JEWELRY

In founding Morabito Art, Anthony Morabito sought to reconcile his family heritage with his passion for the work of contemporary artists and designers. For him, the pinnacle of art edition finds its uniqueness through jewelry. The artwork transcends the jewel, and the person who wears it becomes the exhibitor. Thus, the artwork moves through the world in contrast to its more static aspect.

The jewelry we produce is created in close collaboration with creators, exploring a new medium. A way to capture, in miniature, the essence of their works.

The idea of creating artist jewelry has been around for a long time, but like some seeds that wait for the right conditions to germinate, it took its time. The soil was there: I grew up in a family of jewelers and collectors of modern and contemporary art. All that was missing was water and sun.

Water can symbolize tears and sweat, frustration and work. A few years ago, I had turned my back on all my artistic aspirations to focus on art direction, digital marketing and event planning. However, like the apple never falls far from the tree, this new path led me back to working with galleries and artists. Fascinated by art edition and its way of democratizing art, I have worked on many edition designs, without ever exploring the artist jewelry that was closest to my heart.

For me, the artist jewelry is the peak of limited edition art. It combines the invaluable value of a unique talent with that of jewelry. Although artist jewelry is not bound to the nobility of materials, the idea of treating each creator's work as jewelry, a testament of craftsmanship to wear, is the best way to pay homage to their work and to expose it outside the walls, through a personality, in life…

The soil and water were combined. All that was missing was the sun. And, like in many stories of passion, it was a meeting. Upon discovering the work of Emma Donnersberg, I had the idea of adapting her work into jewelry, which finally sparked germination. This design allowed me to rediscover a profession, trades, to learn, to marvel with technology, to experience failures in order to reach the much sought after perfection, and finally to give substance to the object.

The story will continue to unfold with different talents that I deeply admire. You are in the right place to discover it with us and explore our first collection "Mushroom" designed by Emma Donnersberg.
