MARSEILLE TAROT
Discover the photographic reinterpretation of the Marseille Tarot through the lens of Stéphane Fedorowsky. Since its inception in the 15th century, this divinatory game has always been a source of inspiration for artists, from Dali to Niki de Saint Phalle and Lydia Maria Pfeffer. The ancient art of Tarot continues to feed the imagination of visual artists. The idea of a photographic adaptation sprouted in the photographer's mind two decades ago and, under the guidance of Morabito Art, took shape after a fruitful year of production.
Fedorowsky's Tarot reveals the original codes and symbols through photography, creating a unique mixed-media fusion of his analog experience and the latest digital methods. For the artist, it's a respectful way to pay homage to this age-old game.
This surreal and poetic photographic work explores different forms, from hand-painted unique pieces to editions for amateur photo/object enthusiasts, to card decks for divinatory readings.
The artwork will be exhibited this fall in Paris, alongside Paris Photo 2024 and the Photo Saint-Germain circuit.
